Calica Parson serves as a Clinical Therapist at the HSC, providing psychotherapy to patients and supporting their mental and emotional well-being. She is passionate about helping people make meaningful changes in their lives and values the opportunity to provide a supportive space where patients feel heard and understood.
A native of the Summerville area, Calica earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina–Columbia and her master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Webster University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of South Carolina and has been part of the HSC team for nearly two years.
Having previously worked with the population served by the HSC in a different capacity, Calica welcomed the opportunity to return as a therapist. Her approach to her work is centered on meeting people where they are and striving to leave them better than when they first connected. She also carries with her advice from her mother to always stay true to herself, lead with kindness and never let anyone steal her joy.
Outside of work, Calica enjoys curling up with a good book or settling in to binge-watch a favorite show on Netflix or Hulu.
